PPTP Protocol for Ubuntu Linux OS

  • This tutorial is compatible with Ubuntu Linux 12.10 and higher
  • The following tutorial has been created on Ubuntu 17.04 (64-bit)
  • The following configuration needs to be done while logged in as a “SuperUser

Step #1: Login as “SuperUser” and open “Terminal

Step #2: Click on “Network Connections” icon and then click on “Edit Connections

Step #3: Click on “Add” button and then click on “Choose a Connection Type” drop-down menu button

Step #4: Select “PPTP” and click on “Create

Step #5: Enter following details:

  • Connection name:FastestVPN_Netherlands_PPTP
  • Gateway: Your desired server address in this case “nl-sk-ssl-01.jumptoserver.com”. Please click here to get complete list of VPN Server addresses
  • Username: Your “Username” provided to you by FastestVPN
  • Password: Your “Password” provided to you by FastestVPN

  • Click on “Advance” button and select Secure: “128-bit (most secure)
  • Now click on “OK” and then click on “Save

Step #6: Click “Network Connections” icon, click on VPN Connections and then click on “FastestVPN_Netherlands” VPN profile you just created
