Setup FastestVPN on Your Netgear Router
Netgear routers usually do not act as OpenVPN client, therefore users cannot set up VPN directly on them. Nonetheless, you can follow these alternate steps to set up the VPN on router Netgear.
Step 1: Flash your router to DD-WRT or Tomato firmware

Some routers can be flashed to another router’s firmware. First, you need to check whether your particular Netgear router’s model is supported by DD-WRT or Tomato or not.
To check if your router is supported by DD-WRT firmware, click here. If your router is supported, you will also find the “Install Guide” next to its name
In order to check if your router is supported by Tomato firmware, click here. If your router is listed there, click on the router name to find the guide to flash it to Tomato firmware.
Once you have flashed your router to DD-WRT or Tomato, proceed to Step 2
If your router is not supported by any of the firmware, we suggest you get another router that has a built-in VPN client setup.
