Setup FastestVPN with OpenVPN on GL.iNet Router

 
This tutorial explains how to connect your GL.iNet Router to FastestVPN using OpenVPN (TCP/ UDP) Protocol.

Go to web browser and acces your browenter 192.168.8.1 in the search bar to access your router’s Web Configuration Panel. (This is the default IP address to access the router)

It will ask for your router’s Username and Password. Enter that information and click on “Login”. (The login information can be found on router’s ‘User Manual’)
 
After successful login to the router, follow these steps to setup FastestVPN OpenVPN in your GL.iNet router

 

Step #1: Download FastestVPN Config Files zip folder for OpenVPN TCP and UDP from here. Extract the folder somewhere.

Step #2: In GL.iNet router setup, click on “OpenVPN”. It will ask you to upload .ovpn files.

Step #3: Go to the Fastestvpn_ovpn folder which you downloaded in step 1. There you will find two folders TCP_Files and UDP_Files. Open any of these folders

Step #4: From the TCP or UDP folder whichever you opened, drag and drop your desired locations file in GL.iNet setup window, such as i dropped Switzerland-UDP here.

Step #5: It will ask for your credentials. Enter your “FastestVPN Username” and “Password” and click on “Submit

Step #6: Put a check mark next to “Enable“. Click on “Apply

Note: If you want your internet not to work without this VPN then also put a check mark on “No internet if VPN is not connected“.

Soon the VPN status will show as “connected”

You are done!!

Note: In step # 4, you can also upload a zip folder of all TCP Files and/ or UDP Files. GL.iNet router will unzip it automatically.
